Ribera del Duero and Rioja
Milo & Sue Barrera – USA
Rutas de Vino by Vintage Spain is fabulous. Cristina has an incredible team. My wife and I have done 5 tours with Rutas de Vino. Our first 2 were of Ribera del Duero from Valladolid and of Rioja from the Ghery-designed hotel, 2016. We did a tour of Penedes from Barcelona with a very close couple, 2020. This trip we again did day tours of Ribera del Duero from Valladolid and of Rioja from the Gehry-designed hotel. In consultation with Yolanda of Cristina’s team we chose to visit different wineries than on our previous visits except that we again asked to have lunch with wine pairings at Baigorri. We enjoyed it very much on our first visit, no less the second. Each tour has been excellent. The five guides we have had have been locals to the respective areas and knowledgeable about not only the areas in terms of wine, but also in terms of history. Spanish history is incredibly interesting and in many ways tied to wine production. We hope to tour Priorat or perhaps Jumilla on our next trip with the Rutas de Vino team. As we have planned our trips we have made suggestions of wineries we were interested in visiting. The team, on this last trip Yolanda, makes every effort to accommodate our interests, but makes suggestions based on their knowledge and availability. For example, some wineries do not do tours, such as Vega Sicilia, and others are not available for touring on Saturdays, so alternates were suggested. I felt as though I had good input into the final itinerary. We chose day trips with pickup and return to our hotels. We wanted to learn about production in addition to tasting. On our most recent trip we visited Abadía Retuerta based on the grounds of an old renovated monastery from the 1600s and surrounding vineyards, Valsotillo, Portia for tasting only, and Territorio Luthier, all excellent and friendly. In addition, we had lunch of typical roast lamb with pairings at Meson de la Villa in Aranda del Duero. Lunch was followed by visit to the cathedral in town, nicely renovated. We had previously visited Aalto, Emilio Moro, Legaris, had a wine pairing lunch at Pesquera Hotel, and visited the Peñafiel castle. Rioja included visits to Amaren, Tierra with excellent local input by our guide who grew up in the village, Tritium in addition to lunch at Baigorri. We had previously visited Valpiedra, Haro, Lopez de Heredia, Muga, and had a short tour of La Guardia. We have no hesitation in highly recommending Rutas de Vino.

Cristina and Rutas de Vino by Vintage Spain made for an exceptional, personalized, and very memorable trip. After a personal consultation on our preferred wine types, interests at wineries, and location preferences, her team returned an itinerary with a few options to choose from. We visited Rivera del Duero, Rioja and Penedes - all with friendly, knowledgeable, and professional bilingual guides. The wineries recommended were fantastic and we were greeted like family at all of them. The hotels were unique and luxurious. If you’re looking for the trip of a lifetime, look no further!

Cristina! Wow! The day was beautifully organized and completely exceeded our expectations. We had an intimate tour with wonderful gastronomic surprises. Jorge, our guide, was knowledgeable and very patient and allowed us to savor the day without pushing us. Cristina even made us an amazing dinner reservation for a different evening. We can't wait to recommend this experience to other people because it was a very special day. Thank-you for organizing something so special. We will be back! Can't wait!
Tour VIP Taste Northern Spain
We absolutely loved our custom wine & food tour in Northern Spain. It was done extremely well planned. I loved that Cristina was able to book us in the wonderful hotels we stayed in. We learned so much and loved all the wineries (big & small) and really enjoyed the excellent food Spain has to offer. It was such a treat to have Jorge as our guide, he was extremely professional , super knowledgeable and funny, he kept us laughing the entire week. We look forward to traveling in Spain n the future and will be sure to call back and set it up with you! P.s. I am in love with San Sebastain and hope to come stay there for 3-4 days next time and just relax. again thank you so much!
Cooking class in Madrid
“I have done cooking classes all around the world so I have high expectations :). I was with a group of 9 (normally it’s just 2 of us) so I was worried about finding a great class for a big group. We had one person with a gluten and dairy allergy and one that does not eat pork. I wanted a great experience for everyone, but was worried those restrictions would modify the menu too much. The chef was able to adapt the menu beautifully and it definitely didn’t even feel like it had been modified. We made an amazing Spanish omelette, paella and amazing salad. We had the most delicious sangria and an incredible dessert. It was the first cooking class for lots of our friends and they all thoroughly enjoyed the class. Everyone talked about it for the rest of our trip. We will look back fondly on this part of our trip. Thank you so much for making it an amazing experience for everyone!”

I wanted to write and thank you for organizing such a fantastic day for us. My friends and I loved every moment and will treasure the memories made for a lifetime. Thank you Crisitina for the lovely tour of your winery and such a delightful tasting. Your knowledge and enthusiasm for what you do is so grand it is contagious! I left your place wanting to explore and learn more. Your personal service really made all of the difference. Thank you for sharing your journey on how Territorio Luthier came to be. Sounds like the skies are the limit for you and your partner. Wishing both of you the best of luck in all future endeavors. Our visit to Dominio de Cair was exceptional. Noemi was fabulous. She was professional, enthusiastic, and demonstrated the utmost pride in her company. The true definition of a stellar employee. Lunch at Portia was incredible. Being able to enjoy lechazo asado and good wine in such a beautiful place with my wonderful friends and our amazing guide Jorge was stupendous. We all very much enjoyed the time spent there. Valsotillo Winery and their owners stole our hearts. They were so pleasant and down to earth. The love they exemplify for winemaking and tradition was very touching. We all agreed that there would have been no better way to end such a fabulous day. I can not say enough about our wonderful guide/driver Jorge. He was professional, knowledgeable, responsible, charming, and a ton of fun! Thank you for picking the perfect person to guide us on our visit to The Ribera. Everyone scored a 10 out of 10 but we'll have to give Jorge a 20 since he even sang for us. A true delight! Thank you again and please know that RUTAS DE VINO - VINTAGE SPAIN will be highly recommended to friends and family.
Wine Tour in Priorat and Olive Oil Tour
Sony, Wlad, Erni & Sonny- Northern California, USA
When traveling in Spain last year Sep 2019, we were looking for a customized, private wine experience that was unique. We considered Rioja and Ribeira del Duero, but instead chose a private tour of the Priorat wine region while we were in Barcelona. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Our guide (and driver) Feliciano picked us up at our hotel. He was personable and knowledgeable about the region, history and culture and had a wonderful sense of humor to boot! He was absolutely amazing. We all fell in love with him, his wit & knowledge of wines and Barcelona of course. The staff at Rutas del Vino/Vintage Spain were extremely knowledgeable and responded quickly to our inquiries, and presented a couple of choices. Ultimately, we chose a private tour (four of us in our party) to a small, family-owned winery with a charismatic owner who turned out to be one of the pioneers of the Priorat's rise to prominence as one of the world's new great wine regions. We were greeted by Carlo, the owner of Clos de l’Obac, who proceeded to give us insight and a history of the renaissance of Priorat wines, including his personal story of how his winery grew in fame and reputation. Meeting Carlo was one of humbleness and his steadfast philosophy makes him a one of a kind pioneering winemaker. We ended with an extensive tasting in a private room and were guided through several vintages of excellent wines, with commentary from the founder along with personalized tasting menu. This was an unforgettable experience for us all. We followed up with a gourmet lunch at a rustic restaurant nearby, paired with (of course) wines from the region. We capped it off with a tasting and conversation about olive oil at an artisanal producer nearby. We grabbed a handful of cans for souvenirs, and headed back in our air conditioned van to Barcelona. Highly recommended.
One Day Wine Tour in Priorat and Penedes
"We had the most amazing time on our wine tours with Rutas de Vino - Vintage Spain! Coordinating the trip through email was seamless and the wineries chosen for us exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide for Penedes and Priorat, Feliciano, was stellar. He was immensely knowledgeable about the region and the wineries we were visiting. He also provided us with recommendations for restaurants and locations in Barcelona that we loved. We could not have asked for a better company to do wine tours with, we highly recommend them to everyone we know, and we can't wait to travel with Rutas de Vino - Vintage Spain in the future!" All The Best,

Wine Tour in Penedes and Priorat regions
Gina, California, USA
Rob and I had such an amazing time with our guide touring the Penedes and Priorat regions. (I wish I could remember his name - he was AWESOME) Our favorite spot without a doubt was the Clos de L'Obac - we had the most incredible private tour and tasting with the owner - we have wine tasted all over the world and that was, without a doubt, the best experience we have ever had! Everything your company set up for us was perfection from the minute our guide picked us up right on time at the train station to the restaurants and wineries we visited, our darling hotel in Gratallops- it just couldn't have been more perfectly planned and executed! We look forward to our next wine adventure and will certainly use Rutas de Vino to plan it- Kind regards,
