Perfect for people who want to experience Spanish wine and food and culture. It includes the two main wine regions in Spain: Rioja and Ribera del Duero; its capital: Madrid; history in World Heritage cities and modern architecture in Bilbao.

8 days/7 nights (3 in Madrid, 1 in Ribera del Duero, 1 in Burgos, 2 in Rioja), lodgings with special charm and flavor, wine tours, traditional food and modern gastronomy, tapas tour, winery visits combining modern and tradition, Burgos cathedral, Segovia aqueduct, Guggenheim Museum and Wine Culture Museum and Toledo, the city of the three cultures.
This tour includes visits to wineries in two of the main regions of Spanish wines: Ribera de Duero and Rioja and an extensive introduction to the excellent Spanish gastronomy. The tour will also take you through the history and art of Spain; castles, monasteries, and historical sites together with modern architecture landmarks will be visited and admired. The famous Guggenheim museum in the nearby city of Bilbao is a nice complement to the tour. While Rioja represents the tradition in Spanish wines, the wines produced in Ribera del Duero are the modern wines that are considered the Spanish wine revolution. But both regions produce some of the finest in Spain. These regions are located in the heart of Spain, a trip to the countryside with small and medium size towns along the three greatest rivers of the country, Ebro, Duero and Tajo

Included: Accommodation in double room with breakfast for 7 nights. Comfortable transport and English speaking guide with knowledge about wine and the area for the days of the tour, 8 days.   • Wineries will be selected depending on availability and your personal preferences, we can always try to include the ones you prefer
  • Usually you will taste a minimum of two or three wines on each winery; more extensive tastings can be included.
  • Although this is a private tour we do not guarantee that the winery visit will be just for your group unless specifically requested. Please let us know if you prefer to have a private tour and tasting.
  • Please keep in mind that Sunday is the worse day to visit wineries, Saturday is not great either but better than Sunday. However, we could arrange for a tour those days as well.
  • If you have a specific budget let us know, we can consider it.
  • These  tours can be done starting with 2 people.
  • If for any reason any given establishment is not available during the dates requested, we will change the winery, hotel or restaurant for a different one within the same category and level of service.

Day 1: Madrid. Night in Madrid. (H, D)
Pick up at Madrid airport. Panoramic visit and hotel transfer. Hotel check in. Tapas tour of Madrid for dinner. You will tour the old part of Madrid with your guide, alternating the culture and history o the Spanish capital with stops for great tapas with wine, beer, or anything you like.

Day 2: Segovia and Ribera de Duero. Night in Ribera del Duero. (H, B, L)
Alter breakfast start the drive to the millenary town of Segovia (about 1h), declared World Heritage by UNESCO, where you will admire the two thousand year old roman aqueduct (best preserved in the world), the astonishing castle (Alcazar), the cathedral and the old quarters. And then have lunch in one of the best asadores (restaurant specialized in roasting meat) of Segovia where you can tray the famous tender suckling pig paired with wines from Segovia. Drive to Ribera del Duero (1h 30min) and visit the castle of Peñafiel and a winery. Free time before dinner on your own

Day 3: Ribera de Duero and Burgos. Night in Burgos. (H, B, L)
Visit a family-owned winery that has cellars from the 16th century. Taste the different wines produced enjoying the company of one of the owners. Visit a second winery with a total different philosophy. Lunch and drive to Burgos (1h) to visit Burgos cathedral, World Heritage monument by UNESCO. Our Lady of Burgos sums up Gothic architecture in all its beauty. Free time before dinner on your own.

Day 4: Bilbao and Rioja. Night in Rioja. (H, B, L)
Alter breakfast drive to Bilbao (1h 30 min) to visit the famous Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao designed by architect Frank Gehry. This unique Museum is probably one of the best modern buildings in Spain, and represents architecture at its best. Gerhy has also designed the new hotel and wine spa for the winery Marques de Riscal. Lunch in Azurmendi, a 3 Michelin star restaurant located in a txacoli winery. Drive to Rioja (1h 30 min) and arrive in time to visits a winery and the medieval walled village of Laguardia (13th c). Under the stone paved streets and homes of Laguardia it is full of old subterranean bodegas, and over them there are many historic monuments and sites, like the Gothic facade of Santa Maria de los Reyes church from the 14th century. Hotel check in and dinner on your own.

Day 5: Traditional Rioja. Night in Rioja (H, B, L)
Rioja wine tour with two winery visits. We will arrange at least a traditional winery with wine tasting in Haro or nearby villages. The tradition of Rioja is very well represented by these centenary wineries, which keep in their cemeteries bottles from the time of their founders. A traditional Riojan lunch will give you more opportunities to taste the wonderful Riojan wines. After lunch visit the Culture of Wine Museum, Dinastía Vivanco. The museum is situated in the heart of the vineyards in Briones, a unique and historic location in the Rioja Alta, on the outskirts of Sierra Cantabria. Even a short visit is worth it for any wine lover since it is considered one of the best wine museums in the world. Dinner on your own.

Day 6: Ribera del Duero: Night in Madrid (H, B, L)
Drive to Ribera del Duero in time to visit the medieval town of Peñaranda and its castle, and another winery. For lunch you will enjoy the typical meal from Ribera, roasted lamb in a wood fired oven with Ribera del Duero wines. Drive to Madrid and dinner on your own.

Day 7: Toledo and Madrid. (H, B, D)
Half a day tour to Toledo the imperial city, the city of the three cultures, Christian, Jewish and Islamic, full of history, tradition and art. Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Back to Madrid and lunch on your own. Leisure time to rest, or shop before our farewell dinner. Farewell dinner in a nearby restaurant.

Day 8: Madrid. (B)
Breakfast and end of our services. Airport transfer.


Guided tour of Madrid and the main museums, Prado, Reina Sofia and/or Tyssen. Tapas and cultural tour of Madrid with your guide. Flamenco Night. Cooking class. Wine tasting.
RIOJA AND RIBERA: horse back riding, hiking, biking, golf, SPA, balloon ride, etc
