Wonderful
four star hotel in an old water mill by the banks of the Duero river.
A big window to enjoy the beautiful views of the river has replaced
one of the walls of each bedroom. It has an outstanding restaurant
where the local ingredients are used in a very creative and innovative
cuisine.
The building is located in the left hand side of the Duero river
in the village of Quintanilla de Onesimo, on a unique and privileged
place full of deep vegetation. The hotel has been projected in two
floors, each one has 11 double rooms with all the needed services
(air conditioning, heating, T.V., minibar, desktop, and internet),
and it has been built using white concrete, to distinguish it from
the existing old building. The new construction is supported over
a foundation platform, which makes a terrace for the 11 rooms of
the ground floor, looking like a crystal box. The
architect, Roberto Valle, has also designed the wine museum of Peñafiel
and has obtained many architecture prizes.
The restaurant is one of the strong points of
the hotel Fuente la Aceña. It is managed by Pedro de Rodrigo
who combines creativity and respect for the regional products. They
have two dining rooms for 40 and 100 people. Both of them are located
in the old flour mill, where the old brick and stone construction
has been carefully respected. The one on the upper floor is the
largest and from there you can enjoy some magnificent views of the
Duero river.
This hotel is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing time, in contact
with nature, and to celebrate corporate events in any of the meeting
rooms perfectly adapted for this kind of activities.
Hotel´s location, between Peñafiel and Valladolid,
just in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region, gives you an extraordinary
chance to visit some of the most famous wineries in the area.
