Falset, the
capital of the Priorat region, is surrounded by woods,
vineyards and hazelnut trees, all in a wine influenced
atmosphere since Falset belongs to two different Denominations
of Origin, Priorat and Montsant
In both the D.O.C. Priorat
and the D.O. Montsant, one can visit wineries and small
towns with special charm. In
Falset, the modernist style cooperative, shops specialized
in wine, oil, and groceries can be visited. Once you have
toured the town, the castle, the squares and palaces of
Medinaceli's dukes and Azara's counts, you can stop
to rest and have a nice meal in the restaurant.
El Cairat is a small restaurant,
there are only 19 seats. What matters here is patron
interaction and regional and creative cooking always with
a personal touch. You
can make your own tasting menu using the dishes from their
menu.
Tomato soup with goat cheese
and oregano oil, cod tartar with romesco, prawns and monkfish
croquettes, local baby goat with vegetables, veal steak
macerated in D.O. Siurana's oil. and many more ......
Desserts will impress anyone
that enjoys eating. Semi-chilled hazelnuts, caramelized
chocolate walnuts with cream, coconut, cappuccino, or
turrón ice cream served with dessert local wines.
Everything
is prepared in their kitchen using the highest quality
ingredients. After
an excellent meal you cannot miss a nice cup of natural
coffee and a brandy, whiskeys, liquors and digestives...
From Tuesday
to Friday they offer a daily menu for lunch and a tasting-menu.
