HACIENDA ABASCAL - THE GOLDEN MILE OF DURIUS

This contemporary, avant garde Hacienda, lying next to the most recognized Spanish wineries, like Vega Sicilia, is situated in the Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero, between Valladolid and Aranda de Duero, two splendid cities to visit in a break!

The Wine hotels rooms are found within the winery itself and the vineyards extend onto the terrace. Not only does the hotel enjoy spectacular views, its design, modern and traditional mixture, allows it to blend into the surrounding scenery!

Although if you are looking for great views, the best will be to go to the top terrace, where the restaurant is located, and enjoy the best of the local gastronomy with red wines from the Duero.

The name of this Wine Hotel, which is also the common name of the great wines of Haciendas de España, is a homage to José Abascal, to whom Fernando VII gave the noble title of Marqués de la Concordia in recognition of his conciliatory character between the two Worlds, the New and the Old World.

Following the architectural movement known as land-art, the architectIgnacio Lliso Aranguren decided to pant the vineyards that were removed when the winery was built in the terrace in the top of the building, where the restaurant is located. In this way the Hacienda was integrated in the landscape and the surroundings without breaking the harmony of the place.

WINERY: The winery has both winemaking and aging facilities. The vineyards, with controlled production surrounds the winery, harvest is done by hand in 12 Kg cases with manual selection of the grapes in the vineyards and in the winery. They use french oak barrels.

This is a unique experience, that will be soon completed with a Wine Spa.
