OUR LAND
Jumilla is located in the south-east of Spain, in the north of the region of Murcia. It has got a climate between Continental and Dry- Mediterranean with a very low average in rainfalls, (below 300 l/m2). With cold winters and very hot summers, Jumilla is characterized for an important thermal variation between the months in summer and those in winter. Its altitude above the sea is between 400 and 1000 metres.
OUR VINEYARDS
Our viticulture presents great peculiarities, which make it different from other areas, due to our climate so adverse, and also to the existence of an important number of vineyards which do not come from any graft, and from which we can obtain wine of great quality. This is an exceptional situation on the national level.
Soils are very stony and dun-limy, and their structure makes vines survive in long periods of droughts. These soils are very suitable due to its high quantity of calcium carbonate and organic materials.
Vines generally reach low outputs. They are planted with a density of 1500-1600 vines/Ha. The different varieties for Red wines are Monastrell, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shyrac and Garnacha. For White wines we find Airén, Macabeo, Pedro Ximenez, Malvasía and Muscatel. The most important variety in this area is “Monastrell”.
OUR WINERY
Bodegas Silvano García was founded in 1925. It is a familiar business, which along the years has been innovating in order to be always up to date according to the market demands, and since then it has always been in pursuit of quality.
For the elaboration of our wines, we carry out an exhaustive control of quality from the vineyard until the bottling, by choosing the grapes that fulfil our quality criteria best. We follow the cycle of ripening, differencing from types of grapes, pieces of ground, work controls in the vineyards, and deciding the best moment for the grape harvest.

OUR WINES
Viñahonda Blanco Cosecha
Varietal: 100% Macabeo.
Tasting notes: Pale yellow colour, clean and bright with a great aromatic intensity. Well balanced, fruity with a sensation of freshness and yout.
Viñahonda Rosado Cosecha
Varietal: 100% Monastrell
Tasting notes: Brilliant raspberry colour, with good intensity and fruit aromas. Balanced and smooth to the taste with a long finish.
Viñahonda Tinto Cosecha
Varietal: 60% Monastrell, 20% Tempranillo, 10% Syrah y 10% Merlot.
Tasting Notes: Plum colour with purple hues. Elegant nose with red fruits, vanilla and hints of spices.A modern and well structured wine to the taste, with an elegant balance between sweet tannins and fruity sensations. Very harmonious with a long lasting taste.
Viñahonda Monastrell Cosecha
Varietal: 100% Monastrell
Tasting Note: Red cherry colour with hints of purple on the rim. Elegant aromas of red fruits; on the palate it is balanced and well structured, fruity and fresh, with a pleasant finish..
Viñahonda Allier-Finesse
Varietal: 60% Monastrell, 30% Tempranillo y 10% Shiraz.
Vineyard: Production less than 1.5 Kg. per vine.a.
Aging: 4 Months in French and American Oak.
Tasting Notes: Deep cherry red colour with ruby hues. Complex, fruity aromas with toasty hints and balsamic nuances. On the palate it is smooth with a pleasant sensation coming from sweet tannins of mature grapes.
Viñahonda Crianza
Varietal: 50% Monastrell, 20% Tempranillo y 30% Cabernet sauvignon.
Vineyard: Production less than 1.5 Kg. per vine.a.
Aging: 8 Months in French Oak.
Tasting Notes: The appearance presents a deep cherry red colour with ruby hues. Ripe fruit aromas fused with cocoa, toasty and balsamic nuances. Refined taste enhanced by further development in the bottle. Full bodied with a persistent and pleasant finish.
Silvano García Dulce Moscatel
Varietal: 100% Moscatel.
Tasting Notes: Straw yellow colour with gilded hues, very clean, brilliant and crystalline. Very intense aroma, fresh and complex. A wide range of aromas are dominated by floral notes with some toasted tones, very smooth. On the palate it is elegant, sweet, light with a perfect balance between alcohol, acidity and sugar. Elegant and long finish.
Silvano García Dulce Monastrell
Varietal: 100% Monastrell.
Tasting Notes: Clean, brilliant with an intense, purplish red colour.
On the nose it presents a great aroma of raisins with spicy, toasted notes. On the palate it is smooth with complex flavours and mature fruit sensations. Clean with a long finish.
Jam of Wine Silvano García Dulce Monastrell
The Jam made of Sweet Wine Silvano García Monastrell arises as resulting from the continuous experimentation with our wines, after verifying that our sweet wine, not only is it an ideal companion for desserts and typical candies but also as appetizer with foies and cheeses.
The Modern Kitchen is characterized by the search of new textures and based on this; the project of making this new jam was developed together with a company dedicated to the artisan jam elaboration. After some tests the result has been magnificent, a jam that faithfully reflects the wine from which it is elaborated, it is a totally artisan product whose sugar addition is far below other jams, that’s why its caloric contribution is inferior, and, on the other hand, it loses all its alcohol in its process of elaboration.
