OUR TRADITION, OUR PRESENT.

The family's tradition of winemaking, dating back to the 19th century, and all the new concepts of growing, producing, and aging have been united with the birth of our winery, Hacienda del Carche, in 2006. Hacienda del Carche is directed towards satisfying the palates of new consumers of the DO Jumilla wine.




NUESTRA BODEGA

Our winery has been built along modern lines and with noble materials, such as Villa Mayor natural stone, marble and wood. These materials have been combined to maintain the year-round interior temperature that is ideal for the production of wines of unmistakable personality.

Our winery has been equipped with the most modern winemaking systems. These elements allow us to obtain complex, harmonic and modern wines without losing the identity of the land. The aging section has a capacity of 600 barrels, now occupied with 90% French oak barrels, and the remaining are American oak barrels of various toast levels and capacities.




OUR LAND

Jumilla is located in the southeast of Spain, in the northern Region of Murcia, and has a moderate altitude of 550m (1800ft) above sea level.

Vineyards and olive groves are the body and soul of this land of sun covering the 60 hectares (150 acres) of our estate. There, the irrigated, shady crops of the Sierra del Carche area are combined with its dry, wild and revealing side; the maturity of the vineyards more than fifty years old, with the freshness of those planted in 2007; the variety of Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache grapes wrap up the native Monastrell for the production of our red wines, and Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc for our white wines… the explosion of contrasts that constitutes the profound essence of this region.

VISITS

When you visit us, you will find yourself enveloped in the magic of the vineyard and its wines. During your visit, you can find out about the history of winemaking, take a walk around the vineyard itself, see how wine is made, and visit the cellars where our wines are left to age. And to top it all off, you can taste and buy some to take home with you.
