El Coso is located in the Retiro Park area, (Sainz de Baranda metro stop), in an area very interesting in for food lovers, with plenty of restaurants and tapas bars. El Coso also has a bar with great tapas. Perfect if you want an experience out of the most touristic areas. Don’t be intimidated for the bullfight decoration, you won't find many tourist here, mostly locals. And their food and customer service are the best (average price 40 euros).

Their food is creative and modern with traditional foundation, and the presentation of the dishes can be spectacular when they are finished at the table. They have a pretty good wine menu and excellent wines by the glass in the bar and at the table.

Diego Fernández Puga in the Chef (he was the chef in the Real Café Bernabeú restaurant in the last year), Florencio Sanchidrian (Best Ham Slicer in the World with a Guiness record) is the Iberico products consultant and he collaborates with them.

The restaurant has capacity for 90 people, 257 m2  in two stories, 40 personas people in the main room (El Coso), and two private rooms, 15 people in Tendido 7 and 35 people in El Burladero. These two dining rooms can be join together with a capacity of 50 people.

The bar just in the entrance, 10m long, and 5 big barrels will allow you to taste great wine and tapas. They even have their recommended wines in Magnun bottles, and of course high quality glasses.

The decoration is rustic and a little bit typical Spanish, with barrels, bullfight paraphernalia and so on. But don't be put off by this if you don't like, their food is elegant, well prepared end extremely well presented. Sometimes Spanish taverns are surprising like this. You can find very traditional dishes but also foams or liquid nitrogen preparations.

They open from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, for appertizers, lunch, dinner and late night food. They close Monday and Sunday night and in August.

They have an executive menu during the week for lunch for 25 € and a tasting menu for 45 €. Their menu is seasonally changed. Average price 40 euros.
