With over seventy years in the wine business they are still a family winery belonging to the Cusine family that combines perfectly tradition with technology. Nowadays they elaborate very high quality both still and sparkling wines and they are very happy to receive visitors to see the winery and taste the wine in situ.

They own 340 hectares of vineyard located in five villages, ten kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, extending through valleys and mountains at altitudes of between 210 and 680 meters. Throughout the winter flocks of sheep graze our lands, naturally fertilizing the earth and eliminating any need for artificial fertilizers. Canopy planting is employed, a system which besides facilitating harvest free of leaves and stems, improves ventilation and ripening. They grow 14 different grape varieties all available for blending, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet franc, Tempranillo and more. A careful selection of varieties which determine and influence the character of great wines. Natural gravity pressing gives the finest must possible, full of clean fresh aromas. Fermented in French Limousin, fine grain Allier barrels or American oak employing the batonage system or temperature controlled stainless steel vats depending on the wines they wish to create. under the direction of the oenologist Marta Casas. They have an average annual production of a million bottles and 600 barrels.

Wines from this winery:

  • Mas Petit, Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French Allier oak barrels.
  • Mas Elena, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It is surprisingly elegant, soft, and round with intense aromas.
  • Blanc de Pacs classic white based in a coupage of Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Parellada.
  • Mas Pons, 100% Chardonnay white wine
  • Honey Moon, delicate white wine produced from late harvested Parellada grapes.
  • Ros de Pacs, rosé wine produced with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.

  • Brut de Pacs, Based on a blend of our Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada varieties, dry and balanced.
  • Brut Nature, from the finest selection of Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada of the vineyards.
  • Brut de Brut, perfectly structured cava considered by Gourmet guides to be one of the best Spanish cavas.
Special Limited Selection
  • Cuvée de Carol, created with Chardonnay the must is first fermented and aged in French oak barrels from which this cava is produced.
  • Mas Irene, the most special red created with Merlot and Cabernet Franc and aged in new French oak barrels.
  • Mas de Carol, the most delicate white wine. Produced from select Chardonnay grapes, it is fermented and aged in lightly charred French oak barrels.

GRATAVINUM - PRIORAT

Gratavinum is the winery of the Cusine family in the town of Gratallops in Priorat. They use garnacha negra, carignan, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and merlot grape varieties.
