If you don't have a lot of time and you still want
to experience the joy of Spanish wines we suggest a short one day
excursion from any of the main Spanish cities. We
will pick you up in the morning and be back in the afternoon.
Discover
Ribera de Duero,
La Mancha,
the land of Don Quijote, or visit a bodega and vineyards in Toledo
from Madrid, go to wine and cava country in Penedés
from Barcelona, visit La Rioja from Bilbao or San Sebastian
and what about some Sherry from Sevilla? The possibilities are endless.
We will pick
you up in the morning and be back in the afternoon. You
will visit one or two wineries with wine tasting. As
part of the gastronomic focus of the tour a delicious typical lunch
accompanied by the regional wines is included.
If you have time you can even visit a historical place.

One day excursions from Madrid
Ribera
del Duero. La Ribera
de Duero is one and a half hours away from Madrid, which makes it
a nice day-trip. We will pick you up in the morning and be back
in the evening. We can visit three bodegas or two bodegas
and a historical site, including a walk through the vineyards, an
explanation of how the wine is made in the winery, and cata
or tasting in all of them. We will enjoy the traditional roast lamb
lunch, the perfect companion for the wine of Ribera.
Toledo and the wineries of Toledo. We
will visit the outstanding bodega 45 minutes away from Toledo
that produces very good reds. The visit will include a walk through
the vineyards, an explanation of how the wine is made in the winery,
a cata or tasting of all the different wines produced there.
Then we will follow to Toledo where we will have lunch and visit
the city of the three cultures. We will pick you up in the morning
and be back in the afternoon.
La
Mancha. We
will taste the spectacular and famous manchego cheese
always tasty, but really outstanding accompanied by a good
manchego white or red wine. We will visit two wineries,
have lunch and visit the famous windmills fought by don Quixote.
WINE
AND PICNIC DAY to Ribera del Duero. We offer you an outdoors
alternative. Visit some of the wineries in the Ribera del Duero
and enjoy a lovely picnic with wine outdoors in a fascinating natural
reservoir.
One day excursions from Barcelona
Penedés.
From Barcelona you can spend a nice day in Penedés visiting
a couple of wine and cava (sparkling wine) wineries. After a nice
lunch you can go back to Barcelona, visit another winery or you
can stop to visit astonishing
Montserrat
Abby located
at the top of a rocky mountain.
One day excursions from Bilbao
or San Sebastian
Rioja. From Bilbao it is
very easy to go to Rioja. You can visit two or three of the great
Rioja wineries, from centenary wineries that keep in their caves
the tradition of Rioja to the most modern ones designed by famous
architects. There are also a lot of small family wineries, some
using artisan traditions and some with state of the art equipment,
making some of the best wines in the area. You will enjoy a typical
Riojan lunch, potatoes soup with chorizo (spicy paprika sausage),
vegetables and roasted lamb chops, where sarmientos (dry
grape vine branches) are used to roast the meat, giving it a unique
and delicious flavor. You can also visit the thematic center dedicated
to wine in Laguardia, Villa
Lucia or the New Museum of Wine Culture Dinastia
Vivanco.
One day excursions
from Sevilla
Jeréz or Sanlucar de Barrameda.
From Sevilla you can visit wineries in Jerez or Sanlucar de Barrameda,
a coastal town very close to Jerez. You will leave Sevilla in the
morning arriving back early afternoon. Your will have an English
speaking guide/driver who is an expert in Spanish wines and the
area of Andalucía. In Jerez you will visit a vineyard, a
large Jerez winery and a small family run winery with tutored wine
tasting in both of them. The tasting will be with wines that not
usually offered to the public. You will also learn about vinegar
and brandy making. After the visits you will have lunch in one of
the best restaurants of Jerez with wine. And back to Sevilla after
a great wine day. Jerez is just 1h drive from Sevilla.
It is a similar itinerary for Sanlucar.
