LA MANCHA and TOLEDO - Wine and Don Quixote - 3 days/ 2 nights

SUMMARY: 2005 is the 4th Centenary of the publication of the first edition of The ingenious knight don Quixote de la Mancha, the best known piece in Spanish literature. To join this celebration we invite you to follow this route in La Mancha, where you will enjoy winery visits with special wine tasting and a tour to the famous mills fought by don Quixote. You will also discover the authentic gastronomy of La Mancha in selected restaurants or in a field meal or "comida campera" in a winery. We will taste the spectacular and famous manchego cheese always tasty, but really outstanding accompanied by a good manchego white or red wine.

LODGING: Charming country luxury hotels in small towns

Day 1: TOLEDO. We'll pick you up from Madrid in the morning and start the drive to a modern winery in the region of Toledo. Winery visit with wine tasting.

Typical lunch in Toledo where we will start tasting the great wines of this region.

Guided visit of Toledo, the imperial city, the city of the three cultures, Christian, Jewish and Islamic, full of history, tradition and art. Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Start the drive to La Mancha where we will check ino our charming hotel. Dinner

Day 2: THE LAND OF DON QUIXOTE. After breakfast we will drive throug La Mancha and we will visit two of the most prestigious wineries en La Mancha, a modern one and one more than 150 years old perfectly restored with modern technology. Typical lunch in the winery.

After lunch we will visit the famous mills that Don Quixote fought thinking they were giants.

Dinner on your own.

Day 3: LA MANCHA. In the morning we will visit the wine museum of Valdepeñas and a traditional ecological winery.

Visit a manchego cheese factory followed by and cheese and olive oil tasting.

Lunch and back to Madrid.
