GASTRONOMIC ACTIVITIES

Wine is the eternal companion of food, so for food and wine lovers we offer popular culinary activities like cooking classes, gastronomic walks of cities, tapas tours. We can also help you making reservation in the best Spanish restaurants, and organize special wine pairing meals.

Spain has been put on top of the culinary scene of the world by a number of really famous chefs, starting with Ferran Adria from El Bulli, and continuing with the rest of our wonderful chefs like Arzak, Santi Santamaría, Sergi Arola, Berasategui, Karlos Arguiñano, etc.

COOKING CLASSES

We offer cooking classes in Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Valladolid and San Sebastian. Our cooking classes can be a private event for your group either in a cooking school or in the private home of the chef. It will depend on the city, the number of people and your preferences. We also have cooking classes available where you can join a group in a cooking school, and enjoy the learning of Spanish cuisine in the company of others.

In many cases the cooking classes will include the visit to local markets.

GASTRONOMIC WALKS

Barcelona: Tour of the Boquería Market and cooking class in a cooking school.
Your will be guided in a tour through the Boquería Market and the Gothic Quarter where the market is located, learning about the specialty shops that surround the market and its history. From there you canal continue to a cooking school located very close to the market, where you can attend a cooking workshop in a very interactive participating class and taste the menu prepared there accompanied by Spanish wines.

Madrid: Madrid is full of little stores dated from the 19th century. With this walk we invite you to discover them and their history, along with some of Madrid’s monuments.

TAPAS TOURS

Tapas is a very Spanish tradition. As you probably know tapas are small dishes that people have instead of a more formal meal. Usually we have different tapas and wines in different bars, Spanish people love bar hoping.

We offer tapas and wine tours in the main Spanish cities, in fact this is one of our specialties. We often include cultural sites in our tapas tours, or make a thematic tapas tours. The best places are Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, San Sebastian, Logroño, Burgos, Valladolid, Haro, almost any Spanish town will be good.

In Madrid we have specialty literary tapas tours, Hemingway tapas tour, the civil War tapas tour, etc

WINE PAIRING MEALS

Wine and food pairing meals are called maridaje in Spanish (from latin maritate – to join). You will learn to combine food a wine in the best possible way. Food and wine pairing is about combining food and wine so all the flavors are clearly improved. Wine has to enhance the flavor of the food and vice versa. To do this, you have to taste, smell, drink and eat. We will go a little bit further than the typical rule of pairing whites with fish and reds with meat. You’ll be nicely surprised!

Wine pairing dinners include the commented tasting of the wines used, that can be set up as a mini wine tasting course for beginners or a professional wine tasting for connoisseurs, or a fun tasting to have a good time.

This activities can be organized anywhere, we can find the best venue for your group, or if you prefer we can go to your hotel or the restaurant of your choice. We can arrange wine tasting or wine pairing meals in different Spanish cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Logroño, Valladolid, Burgos, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Sevilla, etc or even in the countryside. Selected venues include most interesting places like bodegas, Wine Museums in Rioja, Castles, hotels, and exclusive clubs. They can be organized as a formal event or as a more informal, fun and interactive event. There is no maximum or minimum group size. We always have professional instructors, like enologists, sommeliers, vinoteca owners, winemakers, etc.

FOOD IN OUR TOURS

Food is a major part of our trips, typical Spanish dishes and the new Spanish cuisine will be enjoyed in both well-known and out of the way restaurants. If the weather is nice, which is often in Spain, a picnic will be perfect, and you will also try a real tapas night.

Our gastronomic activities like wine and tapas tours, cooking classes and wine pairing meals are perfect for corporate events, incentive travel, team building or a complement to a business meeting; they provide a lot of fun and interaction. They can also be combined with other activities in the vineyard or the winery.
