VINTAGE SPAIN NEWSLETTER. Wine tasting tours in Spain
|
|
|
A
fresh newsletter to balance the hot summer
here in Spain. Since we are a little bit late
to recommend you San Fermín in Pamplona
(July, 6-14), you can try other festivals
around Santiago or St James day (July 25),
or even jazz in the north of Spain. Check
Events
We
focus on a very nice hotel
in Rioja where you can go to be pampered
after your winery visits and a great
restaurant in the same town. This month
our featured top tour is
Spanish Wine Experience
from the 19th to the 25th of September. And
for the summer we keep our scheduled
one
day tours from Madrid to Ribera del Duero.
We
know and like the places and establishments
we recommend, this is why we can talk about
them and also why we would appreciate very
much your opinion about them. They are all
very open and friendly with wine lovers and
most are out of the tourist track.

TOUR |
September
19- 25. SPANISH WINE EXPERIENCE - Rioja,
Ribera del Duero and Toledo. From
Madrid
This
tour is our top tour, perfect
for people who want to experience Spanish
wine and Spanish culture. The lodging would
be in small places with special charm and
flavor. It includes visits to wineries in
three main regions: Ribera de Duero, Rioja
and Toledo and an extensive introduction
to the excellent Spanish gastronomy. The
tour will also take you through the history
and art of Spain, from the Roman Aqueduct
in Segovia to castles,
monasteries, cathedrals, including the gothic
cathedral of Burgos, one
of the most beautiful in Spain and the one
in Toledo. While
Rioja represents the tradition in Spanish
wines, the wines produced in Ribera del
Duero are the modern wines that are considered
the Spanish wine revolution, both regions
producing some of the finest in Spain.

WINERY |
|
|
Ismael
Arroyo winery is better known for
the name of his wines Valsotillo.
This small winery is one of the
most striking in the area because
of the impressive cave from the
XVII century still used for aging
of the wine. The Arroyo family is
very hospitable and it is always
a pleasure to visit them, admire
the cellar and taste their wonderful
wine.

FEATURED RESTAURANT |
|
|
A
great restaurant located in an old
cellar from the XVII century that
combines the traditional Riojan food
with creativity and imagination, one
of our favorites. The place has thick
stone walls and wooden beams that
shelter an exquisite kitchen and a
warm, elegant and careful service.
The wine is stored in optimum conditions
in a cellar with two underground caves.
