A
NEW YEAR FOR WINE TOURS IN SPAIN!
Winter
is a wonderful time to start preparing you
vacation. So here we are, with great suggestions
for gourmet wine and gastronomic tours in
Spain and Portugal. We want to share with
you our favorites places to give you an idea
of what you could be experiencing in our tours,
unique wineries, hotels, and restaurants.
And don't forget that wine and food can always
be enjoyed together with other activities
like cultural visits, golf, spa treatments,
bicycle, horse or walking tours, just to mention
a few.
This
year we
have decided to focus more on customized private
tours and have less scheduled tours, although
we are having a Classical
Wines in Rioja and Ribera del Duero
in June 4-8, 4 nights. All tours are
available upon request, you can check our

page.
This
month we want to show you a little bit of
different regions, Castiblanque
a winery in La Mancha,
Finca Valpiedra,
another winery in Rioja,
Real Sitio de la
Ventosilla a winery with a hotel
in Ribera del Duero and Cal
Blay, a restaurant in
Penedes.

Classical
Wines: Rioja and Ribera del Duero. June
4-8 2007.
This
tour is perfect for people who want to experience
Spanish wine and Spanish culture. It
is a special tour combining Wine, Architecture,
Art and Gastronomy. The tour starts and
finish in Madrid, and covers, Ribera del
Duero, Burgos, Rioja and Bilbao. The tour
will take you through the best wines in
Spain and its history, from the cathedral
of Burgos to the new Guggenheim Museum in
Bilbao,
including monasteries, medieval towns, and
historical sites that will be visited and
admired.
Four
nights
to immerse into the Spanish culture, wine
and gastronomy. Stay in a five star hotel
in a winery, in a former convent that is
now a four star hotel, and in another four
star hotel in a small medieval town home
of winemakers. Dine with the locals, in
the typical places not frequented by tourist
and in the very good well known places,
popular with everybody. And, of course,
enjoy the best wines of Spain, comparing
such different regions as the modernity
and innovation of Ribera del Duero with
the tradition of Rioja.

winery is located in a restored
XIX century wine cellar. It represents
modernity and renovation in the
center of the traditional region
of La Mancha. They are making excellent
wines that can be tasted by anybody
who travels in the land of Don Quixote
and wants to visit the winery. They
just opened a new Gourmet
store in Madrid to sell
their wines and traditional Mancha
products.

Valpiedra is a wonderful chateau
style winery located in one of the
most beautiful states of Rioja Alta,
surrounded by vineyards and the
Ebro river. They have incredible
views and a magnificent barrel room.
It is the flagship of the Martinez
Bujanda group, owners of Valdemar
and Cosecheros y Criadores in Rioja
and Finca Antigua in Cuenca. They
make only a type of wine from a
single vineyard with excellent quality.
