Viña Mambrilla is a small family winery founded by the Arranz family, long time wine growers and very passionate about wine. Since they own their own vineyards, they decided to produce their own wines, combining their knowledge of wine making tradition with the most modern technology. Their goal is to produce high quality wines in Ribera, with body, structure, and respect for the fruit. They market their wine with the name ALIDIS, and are already getting national and international recognition showing a very high growth potential.

VIÑA MAMBRILLA winery is located in Mambrilla de Castrejon, a small town in Burgos, 5 km away from Pedrosa de Duero, 6 km from Roa, and 12 from Peñafiel, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Viña Mambrilla was founded in 1999 by the Arranz family, sons, grandsons, and great grandsons, of winegrowers. They decided to make their own wine using grapes from their own vineyard. Fortu, Rodrigo, Sergio and Luis decided their grapes had enough quality to make a superb wine in Ribera, and it seems that they were not wrong, considering the recognition they got both national and internationally. From local prizes to special mentions in Wine Spectator, Alidis is a name that you are going to start hearing more often.

They have 45 Ha of excellent quality vines, some of them have more than 50 and 100 years, and all of them are within the town of Mambrilla de Castrejon. They are planted with tinta del pais or tempranillo grape variety. They pay special attention to the care of the vineyards, since they have the opinion that the wine is made on the vine, and just with the best grapes one can get the best wine. That's why they only use grapes from it's own vineyard, they want to keep control of every grape that gets into the winery. Chemical treatment products are kept to a minimum so wines are totally natural. Vineyards are located within sheltered areas, facing south to avoid freezing, and get lots of sunshine, thus minimizing the need for chemical treatment.

All their experience and tradition is put to work in a modern winery where they have French, American, and east European oak casks. Their annual production is 200000 bottles.

The winery is open for visitors wishing to know their wine, ALIDIS, and ready to share Arranz’s family passion for wine.
